Neumünster goes World Cup – VR Classics
Neumünster – Every year in February the Holstenhallen in Neumünster gets into the focus of all dressage fans. From 16.-19. February the Reem Acra FEI World Cup Dressage takes place at the VR Classics and brings the highly-ranked indoor series to Schleswig Holstein, which always ends in a genuine celebration – a very good idea as a Christmas present for real Dressage fans...
The VR Classics are the eighth and therefore second last station of the current series of the Reem Acra FEI World Cup Dressage, which started in Odense, Denmark in October and will end at its final stage from 18.- 22. April in s`Hertogenbosch in the Netherlands. The World Cup Dressage has been taking place since 1985/86 with its first final in s`Hertogenbosch starting a triumphal procession around the whole world.
Since the season 2010/11 the international dressage series is named after the fashion label Reem Acra New York. At present the swedish EC-third Patrick Kittel is leading the ranking. Before Neumünster there will be two other qualifications in Mechelen (Belgium) and Amsterdam (Netherlands) taking place.
The World Cup station Neumünster again and again impresses through the huge response of the audience and through the diversity of nations. More than 20 competitors from ten countries competed at the World Cup in February 2011 and the organisers expect a similar performance in 2012. On saturday, the 18. of February the Grand Prix Dressage will take place in the morning. The World Cup freestyle will take place on sunday, presented by the VR Bank Neumünster and the Bausparkasse Schwäbisch Hall.
Highclass jumping for world ranking list points
The VR Classics have been a station for the World Cup Dressage for 26 years, but international show jumping competitions have been taking place even longer. In February 2012 there will be four show jumping competitions counting for the world ranking list. Riders who want to collect points here need to compete in the Grand Prix of the Volksbanken and Raiffeisenbanken on Saturday, the Mercedes-Benz Cup and the DZ-Bank Price on Saturday and the Voigt Logistic Cup on Friday. These four competitions offer the most prestige, points and price money.
