Hermann Schridde Gedächtnispreis 2011

Supporting young talents in show jumping

Hermann Schridde was born in Meißendorf/Celle and was an idol for many riders. He was known as the “stylist” and set a high value on solid dressage work so as a controlled and stylistic riding. This was the basic of his triumph. He won Olympic team gold in Tokio and Olympic individual silver. He became trainer of the best German show jumpers later on.

Hermann Schridde died in a plane crash in 1985. To keep his conviction and ideas about how to train show jumpers and their horses, the Hermann-Schridde donation and the “Hermann Schridde Gedächtnis-Preis” was found in memoriam of his person.

For 10 years now it is GEHLA- a famous brand for first-class poultry- that supports the series and the finals at the German Classics in Hannover as a sponsor.

Thereby young riders get the chance, to compete next to the stars at the most famous arenas of Germany.
A special thank goes to GEHLA for this long term partnership!
